More about this scene
The small village of Burnt Yates in Nidderdale is graced by this neat little Victorian sandstone church. The village stood close to a gate in the 'Monks' Wall' which encompassed the vast Fountains Abbey estate, and the village's name may refer to a gate which had been burned at some time.
