A Kingsbury Boy!
A Memory of Burnt Oak.
But I remember Burnt Oak very well. Unfortunately the area could be a little violent if your face wasn't known. The first memory that returns to me is dear old Mr Richardson the father of my old friend Michael Richardson. The father used to stand outside Lyons Corner House (I believe that was its name) at the top of the Watling Ave; he'd be there come rain or shine selling newspapers.....a real hard worker, a trait that his son Mike was to follow. My second memory was Sheila......I think she might have been one of my first loves.....I had four! She would go roller skating in Cricklewood....I hope she's happy wherever she is. Are the Lock brothers still around? Does anyone remember the pawnbrokers on the High Road? The owner lived above the shop with his daughter......and I apologise most sincerely for forgetting her name because she was a friend that used to frequent the BeeHive public house in Edgware.....she was indeed a very attractive woman! Where is she now. Does anyone remember Flirt Boutique woman's clothes on the High Street that was owned by my dear friend Mrs Bloom.....I used to dress the window occasionally. Is the fella still living in Burnt Oak that was in the back of my Bentley when I crashed it into Allweathers Garage? Dear old Michael Connelly was also there......I think.....hard job remembering......where are you now Michael? Not still road managing with Alan Prices boys are you....actually Ray Minnetti is still singing and going strong in Sunderland. Must think about other memories of Burnt Oak and come back again.
