Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Wednesday 18th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Wednesday 18th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Please Note: Our offices and factory are now closed until Thursday 2nd January when we will be pleased to deal with any queries that have arisen during the holiday period.

My parents moved from Durham to Burgess Hill in the mid-fifties. I was born in 1957, at Cuckfield hospital, and at that time lived in West Park Crescent. Both my brother and sister were also born in Burgess Hill. I remember my Mum sometimes used to get us to pick some shopping items up from a local shop, which would have been nearby (probably no longer there). Eventually, we moved to Holmesdale Road. I note that a couple of people have mentioned St Joseph's Convent School. Having attended that school from 1960 to 1966, I can confirm that the location was opposite Hoadley's and the building did indeed curve alongside the pavement. Anyone familiar with Burgess Hill (I lived there from 1956 until 2012) will know that this photo is incorrectly titled. London Road is some way off to the south - turn left at distant St John's church spire. We are of course looking from Station Hill (which is the bridge over the railway line) down towards the junction of Church Road and Station Road which branches off to the left.
