Forest Hospital
A Memory of Buckhurst Hill.
The small hospital was The Forest. When expecting my first child in 1965 I used to go there for regular check ups as I was booked into a hospital some distance away for the birth. MIss Foxton was the Health Visitor. In later years, the hospital was turned into a care facility for the elderly and my mother spent some time there for respite whilst we were away on holiday.
Dr George Taylor was my GP from Palmerston Road, he had a spinal deformity. He was married to Dr Josephine Werren. In later years, their son John took over the practice.
I now live in New Zealand and have such fond memories of Buckhurst Hill. I try and visit as often as I can and have been amazed at the development of the area.
