More about this scene

Band performances were held mostly at the Colonnade after it was opened in 1911. Popular tunes of the day were played by resident and visiting bands to amuse the visitors, who lounged in the surrounding deckchairs. On Sundays there would be a programme of sacred music.

Little Folks Home
Can anyone remember the little folks home in Bexhill on sea. I was only twelve at the time, this was around 1956. I can only remember a sister Moris and nurse Hancock, I have been back to find the place in 2001 but unfortunately did not find it. I remember the house being a short walk from Bexhill station. National Service
National Service As a 71-year old now living in Macau (China) I still retain the warmest memories of Bexhill in the 1950s. At that time I was a National Serviceman stationed at RAF Wartling (Upper Barnhorn) and courting a local Bexhill girl who lived in Downlands Avenue. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
