Nostalgic memories of Bentley's local history

Share your own memories of Bentley and read what others have said

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our web site to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was when the photographs in our archive were taken. From brief one-liners explaining a little bit more about the image depicted, to great, in-depth accounts of a childhood when things were rather different than today (and everything inbetween!). We've had many contributors recognising themselves or loved ones in our photographs.

Why not add your memory today and become part of our Memories Community to help others in the future delve back into their past.

I remember in the 60s playing on the tall metal slide, fell off from the top. Ran home to Mam . Sprained my left arm. Happy Days..
This photograph is of me and my brother and our friends playing on the 'bumper'. I'm the girl stood up on the bumper with my back to the camera, next to the crouching boy...and my brother is the boy also stood up on the bumper most, facing the camera, 3rd from the left. We all spent every waking moment in the park...those were the days! My daughter suprised me at Christmas with a copy of this photo.
This is definitely Bentley High Street but it isn't 1955 - nearer 1975 - take a look at the style of the newsagents to the front right and especially the CAR!! Very advanced for the 1950s.
