More about this scene
We are standing on what is now the golf course, above The Dell and Swallowdale. In the distance, right of centre, is the long, pale form of the recently-completed Keay House. The 16th-century Vange Hall stood a little way to our right, near what is thought to have been the site of a Roman brickworks. All that now remains of the Hall is its duck pond.
