More about this scene
In this photograph we head north-east out of Market Square along Cambridge Street, once known as Bakers Lane, a road that haas seen much change since the 1950s. The Barley Corn pub survives, albeit now (in 2000) archly renamed the Farmyard and Firkin; the shop with the crested fascia, a pork butchers in the 1970s, is now (in 2000) The Bacon Shop, but the Old Harrow Inn has gone.
