The Kings Arms Marston's 1807

A Memory of Appleby-in-Westmorland.

My Uncle Frank and Aunt Vi managed this pub back in the 60's. My Uncle, Frank Edward Betts was Mayor of Appleby in 1954 and was a manager at Express Dairies. I am trying to find out if this pub still exists. I am not sure exactly where the pub was and would love to know. My husband and I have been to Appleby today (we live nearly 300 miles away) I have no one in the family to ask about this now as my wonderful dad died last year. I am back home now but if I could find out more information we would love to go back again. Any information would be wonderful. I remember staying with them back in the 60's but all I remember is a field opposite the pub with cows that used to moo very early in the morning. My husband has found a pub in Stainton called the Kings Arms. Does anybody know if this could be the pub that they managed? We will continue to research as much as we can but if anybody has any memories of my family I would love to hear them. I have photos of them standing outside the pub and I have photos of the interior as well. I hope somebody remembers my aunt and uncle.
