More about this scene
At the junction of Rileys Lane and the A34 are St Philip`s Parish Church and the Alderley Edge village war memorial. The latter is at the spiritual heart of the community, beside the church where many of the men worshipped. It is close to the lane that goes down to the village school, and faces one of the entrances to the railway station from where these men departed forever.
