More about this scene
The King's Head dates back to at least 1726, but it underwent a major reconstruction in the 1880s. In 1884 it annexed the adjoining Victoria Hotel and reopened it as the Victoria Hall, a theatre, cinema and assembly room. This is now Laing's Bar and Brasserie, named after the 19th-century owners. Note the unusual sight of a couple on a tandem in the foreground.
