More about this scene

This double fronted Georgian house exudes all the comfortable status that the Established Church could expect at the time it was built in the late Georgian times. Too big for modern clergymen, it is now a restaurant, and its old orchard contains the town`s leisure centre.

My 4x great grandfather, Croxton Johnson, was rector of Wilmslow from 1787 to 1813. His father, George Johnson was a wealthy merchant from Manchester who bought him the presentation of the directorship.
