The horse-tram will soon be a thing of the past. It is 1900, the same year that the system was converted to electric traction. The electric trams ran until 1934, when they were replaced by petrol buses. Other systems that closed down in 1934 were Colne, Derby, Middlesborough, Nelson, Northampton, Guernsey, Rhondda and Torquay.
