School At Tylney Hall
A Memory of Rotherwick.
I attended Tylney Hall School from 1950 to 1956 and used to go into Rotherwick village every Sunday to go to church which was compulsory for everybody except if you were RC or Jewish. The church then was a lovely place to go with yew trees right round the building and also very well kept, not like the last time I visited when it looked a bit run down and neglected and apparently only used one week in three (what a shame to waste a lovely building like this). Hook was also a regular place to visit as it was the only place to go for your sweets as Rotherwick did not have a shop by then and we were not allowed in the pub, what a pity.

a sister called Esther. Are you that Arthur. I was at Tylney Hall School from 1954 until 1957/8.

I'm Ivan Rogers. I knew a Kay Partridge at Tylney Hall School. I attended Jan.1955 to end of 1956. She was good friends with Margaret Thompson. They were both good dancers.
Please get in touch.

Also, David Warren, I remember you very well. I was from Derby. You may recall Roy Higgins, who was from Manchester. So there were three of us who didn't come from Middlesex.
Hello,David Gilbert. I remember you and Kenneth. The Gordon you refer to might be Gordon Leonard who was good pals with David 'Bogey' Knight. During my stay at Tylney I was in Scott and Churchill dorms, and John Lavenger was our supervisor. I was in A class, taught by Mr Evans. Many regards to all the Old Tylneyites. Ivan Rogers.
