More about this scene
We are looking up the hill from the centre of town towards Camborne. Notice the tram (advertising the Cornish Post newspaper) parked at the terminus of the newly opened Camborne and Redruth Tramway - this small operation lasted until 1927. Opposite is Salter & Son's carpenters' workshops, while on the same side of the road are the Western Hotel and the Royal Standard Inn.
