More about this scene
Here we see the Yorkshire Penny Bank (left) in the 1893 building which was originally the post office. To the right is the Liberal Club, also of 1893, and further along is the old Mechanics' Institute (1889) with its own collection of over 800 books. Today the building houses the town's comprehensive public library. Ossett's GNR railway station was open until 1964.
