More about this scene
Some attractive red brick houses lining the High Street are a reminder that Nettlebed was a major brick-making centre - the industry dates back to the 14th century. The village still has an old brick kiln. It is reputed that Queen Elizabeth I once stayed in the White Hart Hotel, which gives some indication of its age.
