Harlow, The Lawn Tower Block c.1955

More about this scene
This nine-storey block was a typical example of housing designed for single people. The first one was built on the corner of Mark Hall Moors in open parkland in the midst of seven magnificent oaks. It was designed in the shape of a butterfly, so that the sitting rooms look south over the landscape. It received a Festival of Britain award.
