More about this scene
The paved area in front of Moot House was a sunny meeting place with mature trees, flower boxes and seats. The sculpture in front of Moot House was one of the first to be given to the town by the Harlow Art Trust. Called 'Chiron', it was bought to commemorate the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. It is the work of Mary Spencer Watson, and she completed the work on the spot. When the library was built, a bronze statue, 'Boy Eating Apple' by Percy Portsmouth, was sited outside.
