This red-brick Georgian coaching inn stands at the centre of Great Witley. The village is situated in a pleasant spot just below the Abberley Hills, an outcrop of the Malverns. There is a great deal of attractive countryside to explore nearby.

I lived in the Stourport Lodge where I was born. My parent were John and Joyce Davies who used to own Witley Court. I and my sister, Jenny Davies, have lot memories of playing around with Alan, Keith Hooper, Jill Weaver and Michael Franies.
Central news recently covered 50 years since the big freeze of 1963; they showed my father driving his old Willys Jeep on the frozen Washing Pool above Witley Court. A local viewer saw that edition of Central news and spotted the jeep that he now owns; yes, it is the actual jeep that is on the dvd I have. Mum and Dad bought the Post Office in 1944 and I grew up in Great Witley. I lived there from the age of 7 to 36. Boys had catapaults, and the police (there were 3 of them) took them off us, so we made new ones from nut sticks, the rubber from innertubes and the leather from the tongue of a shoe. Great Witley school is where it all began,we lived at Ockeridge some 5 miles from Great Witley,but soon after my parents moved to the Engine House,situated down witley court drive, and opposite the Hundred pool.
