Those Were The Days Like Them Back
A Memory of Dronfield.
First visited Dronfield in the late 60's when I met my first proper girlfriend would then be 20ish. The first date was with her parents to The Contact Club I was mesmerised by her she was so besutiful cant think what she saw in me I was in awe of her totally smitten. We would later go to the Rock Tavern and meet with members of The Dronfield Players such lovely people so friendly and outgoing, although I didnt perform I would go to support her she was a wonderful actress even at a young age loved watching her on stage. I lived in Sheffield at the time so it was a case of clock watching to catch the last green bus at the bottom of Green Lane. After I joined the Army and stationed in Longmoor I would get a lift home at weekends with a mate who would drop me outside the Rock in time for the last hour with everyone wonderful wonderful memories.
