More about this scene
Further north, at the A245 Parvis Road junction, the photographer looks back down High Road with Lloyds TSB on the left and the Dutch-gabled fire station of 1885 on the right, complete with its siren tower (now gone). Candy Corner gave way to an office block in the 1980s. In the distance is Amptwade House of 1905 with mock timber gables, now Boutell and Son, funeral directors. To the left is the old Civic Restaurant, which we will see in view B265022.
