More about this scene
Bradford was the centre of the woollen and worsted industry, even though trade with the United States during the 1890s had been badly affected by the McKinley Tariffs. The Bradford Exchange was truly international, with manufacturers, agents and dealers from around the world buying and selling wool or hair of every imaginable type and quality.
