1 Station Road

A Memory of Bordon.

I lived at the address which was the house on the corner of hogmoor Road and Station Road. The house was wood not tin as stated and was painted cream. Corrals coal were the owners and a coal yard was at the rear of the house,. . adjacent on hogmoor Road were sheds which were used for the garage of the 2 lorries of corrals. In the corner of the house was a cafe referred to as dirty mags. In about 1948 a tank of the 3dg,s did not make the corner and ended up in the cafe door. Around the same time another tank went into the front of the 3rd house in hogmoor road. Opposite was a ministry of supply site with various old vehicles and plant in state of decay for disposal this was eventually cleared and pine tress planted. Station road went as far as the junction to the station where it became oakhanger road to the left and Station approach to the right. We left there in 1952 moving to Lindford to Corrals new site at Olivers Farm I left there in 1956 to go into the army and served in the 9th Lancers and 9/12th Lancers
