Happy days indeed.I lived in Mason Avenue,i also went to Holy cross and St Hughes. We were on the edge of industrial Birkenhead, with the docks, flour mills, railway sidings etc one one side and open country,Bidston Hill, the seven stiles and the Rhods etc on the other.Played all those games you mentioned and others. My Nan lived in Ilchester road and I have fond memories of the house she lived in.Us boys from the Avenues used to have pitched battles with the lads from Ilchester square over the theft of bonfire material.I am always proud to say I was born and raised in the North-end of Birkenhead on the Bidston Bayou as I sometimes call..
