More about this scene
The ladies of the town used to meet in Main Street at the Loft Café. In 1904, this thoroughfare was straightened - the new route cut through an old graveyard which contained the remains of the poet John Nicholson. The Market Hall and stocks once stood on Main Street opposite Ferrand Lane.
