More about this scene
This view shows the bus station that disfigured the open space of Kingsbury until the new bus station was built as part of the Friars Square development in the 1960s. The Red Lion has lost two of its ground floor sahses (they have since been reinstated), and Kingsbury House beyond replaced the shops. The Rookwood was much altered in the early 1950s, losing its sash windows and having its timber-framing covered over, and is now (in 2000) renamed the Lobster Pot.
