Albrighton, Shrewsbury Arms Hotel c.1965

More about this scene
It has been suggested that the Shrewsbury Arms is so called because it once belonged to the Earls of Shrewsbury. The church of St Mary Magdalene sits across the road. Studying photographs in the Francis Frith collection, one is struck by how often buildings that were once easy to see are now obscured by trees. Here the opposite has happened - the trees have been removed.
