More about this scene
A short walk from the old Grammar School is the parish church of All Saints. Here in the graveyard can be found reminders of local landowners like the Frobishers, the Freestons and the Newlands. There is also a poignant reminder of danger in the everyday lives of working people on the gravestone of Caleb Russell, who was killed on the Midland Railway in 1889 aged 22.
