Haywards Heath, South Road c.1955

More about this scene
The projecting sign of Boots (centre) certainly helped to advertise its presence. Other nationally recognised names here include Freeman Hardy & Willis, WH Smith and Timothy Whites (on the extreme right). The number 84 bus seems to have a clear run; it need not be too concerned about the sole road marking, `No Parking`, at the Haywards Road junction.
