More about this scene
Haddenham was one of the chief breeding areas for the Aylesbury duck; its network of streams and ponds was of immense value to this industry, even if the village was famously foul-smellling in a hot summer. This is one of the ponds, Banks Pond, on the main east-west road through the village; the scene is relatively unchanged, although out of view to the left is now a parade of 1960s shops.
