More about this scene

Gomshall is also on the Tillingbourne, and its single-storey water mill is uncommon in these parts. The fact that it once doubled up as the local post office is also unusual. Beautifully restored, it is now a restaurant. The mill pond has been filled in, and is now a play area for the children of families who are dining there.

My father had purchased a print of the above and when hanging it in the saloon bar Rose Hawkins recognised herself playing with friends in the river as a child. The local paper was advised with a journalist visiting and reporting taking photos of my ...see more
I stayed here for the weekend with members of Walton Baptist Church. Remember walks and playing football in the grounds, when for simplcity the team just called "Addlestone" rather than my real name, Mark. But then, if that last memory is correct, then it would actually have been later - more like 1973 or even 1974.
