More about this scene
A tiny coastal hamlet in the parish of Symondsbury, Eype was provided with its own 350-seat chapel of ease, dedicated to St Peter, in 1865 (right-hand skyline). This view is from the lower slopes of Thorncombe Beacon, looking north-east, to Lower Eype Farm (left) and Lower Eype hamlet (centre), with the adjacent farmstead of Bonville (right). Mount Lane climbs the hill towards St Peter`s Church on The Mount (right of centre).
