The thatched roofs of Ducks Bottom (left), the old post office (centre) and Vine Cottage (right) nestle in the heart of pastoral Eype hamlet in the coastal valley west of Bridport. The former post office is now called Journey's End, taking its name from the best known work of the playwright Robert Cedric Sherriff (1896-1975); he retired here to Downhouse Farm below Eype Down (background), which he gave to the National Trust in 1966.
