The first School I ever went to was Duncton Primary, I loved this school. Our Headmaster was Mr Salsbury who we nicknamed Mr Strawberry due to a strawberry shaped wort he had on the back of his head. He was an ex military veteran - or I was later told this - and was quite scary. He gave me the slipper for something i had done and my mum insisted on it and was there on the day. I remember staying with my Aunt and Uncle Darker at 2 Council Cottages, they had a son Michael and also my Uncle Reg and Auntie Joy staying at 17 Willett Close. Great times
I very fond memories of my early school days as a child in the 1970s,the local first school,which i believe is still there,had only two teachers that i can remember,which was miss radcliff,and headmaster mr salsbury.We had wonderful school dinners,cooked on site,and two wonderful dinnerladies,mrs house and mrs mathews,who gave me a nickname of jilly-giles,where this came from i do not know.I remember two school ...see more
