This picture was taken just two years after the horse-trams had been taken over by the operators of the coastal electric tramway. There was talk of converting the horse tramway to electric traction, but nothing ever came of it. In the picture is a double-deck horse-tram; the last of these were phased out in 1949, though old No 14 survived long enough to be shipped off to Clapham Museum in March 1955.
