More about this scene
In the 1950s, part of the building was used as overflow classrooms for the Abbey School, which at that time provided all primary education for the town. The school can be seen on the left. It was also used for the Mother and Baby Clinic. The neighbouring Holy Cross church used it as their church rooms; breakfast would be served there on Sundays after the service in church. It is now used as the Daventry Ex- Servicemen's Club, after a brief period as a restaurant.
