Hi I was born at Chester Nursing Home - 11 Stanley Place, Chester in April 1943. I am wondering what happened to the Nursing Home and if anyone can give me a some history and photograph of the building it was situated in, I left the UK in 1965 for Canada but each time I go home I visit Chester. As a child I loved going to the zoo and as a teenager that grew up near Aintree Race Course had /have a great love for horses ...see more
i was born in the infirmary in 1944 and lived in Claremont Walk by Bold Square i remember the tanks as they were disturbing the tarmac on the way from the station to the rodee
born Eaton road. 1946.my grandmother lived on greenaway street.name of Peake.always watched the fishermen bringing their nets in.
Does anyone else remember the Autumn Sports held in August with the parade of morris dancers not the usual type, they all had bells on their pumps and were very like the American Majorettes, we used to watch it from the top of Canal Street then they used to have competitions on the Roodee afterwards.
