Carnforth, Market Street 1898

More about this scene
Already busy with turnpike traffic, the railway's arrival encouraged more hotels, such as the Royal Station Hotel at the bottom of the street. On the corner is Woolstencroft's chemist, notice the apothecary jars in the window and a mortar and pestle above its entrance. Look too at a sign etched on the glass of the door, 'TEETH CAREFULLY EXTRACTED'.
