A Memory of Rothwell.

I remember living at the back of the children's home in Oakwood Drive, Rothwell and children getting used fireworks from our garden. Nobody seems to remember the childrens home, but I remember it and then Home Lea Home and houses being built.

i was in the margret home in leeds about 1943 then i went into street lane about 1945 then i was sent to rothwell childrens home iwas there untill 1954 my name is harry penny i have a brother john and a sister joan does any body remember us

My Mother was in an orphanage in about 1910, I think it might have been in Rothwell run bye a Miss Silverwood. My has now passed away and I am trying to trace family ancestors.

My mum and her sister were in Rothwell children's home after they were at Street Lane in Moortown.Eva and Caroline Schofield.I think they were there in the 1930s.Does anyone remember them ?
