Steamers
A Memory of Helensburgh.
I remember being with my family at Craigendoran station to get on the Jeannie Deans steamer. My father worked at that station and waved as we left the pier. Good times. It is always good to remember the past but I don't think it was all great. There were more shops, that is something that has changed and also something that needs addressing. We were not a town full of tourist shops but there was a variety of other stores. Of course online shopping has changed our habit but I still feel we should encourage people to open new stores as we have so many empty properties now and that makes the town sad looking.
