More about this scene
The Coach and Horses is one of Wimborne's oldest pubs, and the only one to have retained its thatched roof to this day. Horse-drawn carts were often left on the forecourt while their owners attended the nearby market. Across Poole Road, the low railing offered easy access to the fields of the Dean's Court Estate. The pub dates back at least to the 18th century, and parts of the building are even older. It stood beside the Poole Turnpike road from 1756.
