Willesden, St Mary's Church c.1965

More about this scene
We go north-east to Willesden, an area mostly developed by the end of the 19th century with lower-class terrace housing which swamped the hamlets that made up the parish. Church End has little besides the church from an earlier rural Willesden. The church was founded in 938; the tower and much of the fabric is medieval, but heavily restored in Victorian times, while the bays in front of the tower were added in 1852.
