More about this scene
This clearly shows the fine sweep of elegant buildings that lined Glentworth Bay and the hillside. All these buildings were constructed between 1840 and 1870 and display a harmony somewhat lost today. Most would have originally been single family dwellings, run with the help of a large staff, and popular with retired surgeons, Indian Army officers and the like. By this date many had already been converted into hotels.
