I recall as a little boy seeing Father Christmas it all seemed very magical as we sat in a sleigh which looked as we were moving forward through a snowy landscape till we arrived at santas grotto and a gift was given happiest days of my life .
My grandparents pub, The Gardeners Arms. In Park Road, was a Harmans pub. There used to be an alley that ran down the centre of the Brewery. I remember two directors of the brewery coming in my pub regularly . MR Green and Mr Hutton. Does anybody remember Park Motor Batteries owned by Mrs Smith and run by Brian Parkes. It was opposite The Gardeners Arms.
Used to go to the Uxbridge show . I remember the railway arms . The Cowley Brick. Walamsy arms . All long gone .Percys the sweet and toy shop. Daveys model shop. Murray's the butchers in the arcade. The moved to high Wycombe then Lincs but visit uxbridge
Mr grandparents moved to Uxbridge in 1957 or thereabouts when they took over, The Gardeners Arms in Park Road Uxbridge. The pub was a Harmans Uxbridge Brewery pub. I remember the old police house opposite and new some of the old coppers there.
