hi all my nan elsie had caravan on this site , got great memories being on the site in early 80s , such simple times then , may be some one knows what happened to the site and the owner norman , also used to be a lady called sylvia who was fortune teller type at rhyl funfair who actually had next caravan to my nan, hopefully someone has some more info and memories . x
Hi, I have a relation who has static caravans on Millers Cottage Fame, Caravan site, Gannick? Road, Towyn. I was wondering could anyone help with the history of Millers Farm, what year and who owned it, and if possible I would love to see a picture of the original farm, thank you
My Parents owned a caravan on Howisons up to 1966. We lived in Wolverhampton and traveled there most Saturdays for the weekend. As a young lad I used to enjoy a bit of train spotting from the bridge or hiring a bike on site for hour or so. My parents over the years owned 3 caravans.
They were on howisons/Robinson's caravan site(now Whitehouse's leisure)
We spent every weekend and every holiday there.
Lots of lovely friends there..my dad played the organ in the camp club.
I am still in touch with two girls I met all those years ago.
The memories no one can take away.
I go back to towyn as often as I can...
I still love the place

I have great memories of my holidays as a child in Towyn, I used to go with my parents Alma and Harry Morrell. The first place we stayed were a place called Stanley’s, they were purpose built chalets. Does anyone remember them? Just cannot remember where they were in Towyn.
I was only around 8 years old, I remember Sandbank bakery, the smell of the Apple pies in particular. The gravel road which Sandbank Rd was like then.
Just great memories, not been back since the late 1970s.
I was in the Army in 1966 when I was fortunate to be posted to Morfa Camp. It was the Army Outward Bound School then and catered mainly for Junior Leaders. They did a 3 week course there during which they engaged in rock climbing, canoeing and general outside activities. We supplied the transport to wherever they had to go. Sandbank House centre left of picture.
My Granddad Harold Barns built this house and the shops next door - also owned Sandbank Holiday Camp.
We took our children every year from 1968 till 1976. There was a building near the beach behind Kinmel Bay which has diamond shaped leaded windows. Does anyone have a photo please? We stayed at Winkups too.We went to the club every night where the Carl Blackwell trio were the main act. On the last night they always sang `We`ll keep a welcome` - we loved it! One year we had an extra holiday in Skegness, but Winkups was our favourite.
Years ago I remember going to Towyn as a child with my parents. We had a caravan on one of the sites - not sure which one as both have passed on now, so until I can contact my cousins it remains a mystery to me - but going through old photos I found a pic of our hot dog van that we used to have on the sea front there in the 60s. Hi, My family used to holiday in a caravan on Ty-gynn (sorry unsure of the spelling) camp site, we holidayed there from the late 1960's to about 1974.
The caravan belonged to the mother of a work mate of my late father, the caravan had no electricity, was lit by Calor Gas, it also had no running water, we loved it.
Every morning Dad would take my brother & myself (my little sister later as she was not born ...see more
