Many memories of my childhood days in Tolworth , lived on sunray estate in Firdene virtually from birth , went to Knollmead primary then Hollyfeild , remember going down path at side of Knollmead school and railway track to the rec where we played in the trees and on the witches hat and swings , we also climed over fence to play football in Decca sports feild , remember swimming pool at Knollmead , great fun in the ...see more
I worked at Victor Towlers for ten years and the photo Tolworth Broadway 1965 with the square clock at 2;30 is the wrong date. I suggest it is probably 1960 as per the others. The shop on the left was part of Victor Towlers by 1962 when I started there. Many thanks for this information - it has been passed on to our archivist and the image date will be altered. Ed.
I also have vivid memories of tolworth as I lived over the shops, waters the green grocers near the wimpy bar As a very young person I remember going to the nursery on the corner of fairmead. I remember playing in the fields behind the cinema and on the opposite side near the new underpass, I used to go to Saturday morning pictures at the odeon, When the new bowling alley opened it was great fun, my dad worked ...see more
