Jenette's Restaurant, The Start Of A Lifetimes Romance.
A Memory of Tadworth.
My memory for dates is suspect, so forgive any slight inaccuracy, however the important facts remain vivid and accurate memories.
Great friends of my family gave a party for their son David's birthday in 1962. He had unfortunately died as a result of a car crash earlier that year - so it was a very mixed emotion celebration. David was my very closest friend.
As well as my family, David's cousin and her family were also invited to the party and shared my family's concerns for the mood of the evening which were unfounded. However it was the first time that I met David's cousin. We fell in love, married three years later and would be celebrating our 50th anniversary this year.
Unfortunately my Darling lost her battle with cancer and its ramifications in March this year despite having been very determined that we would be together this October. We shall nevertheless celebrate and we hope that it might be at today's reincarnation of Jenette's.
My Darling and I always attached great importance, needless perhaps to say, to our meeting at Tadworth. Indeed we named our first home Tadworth House, albeit we never made another visit to Jenette's, which is somewhat strange when considering its significance in our lives.
What memories, what a lifetime of happiness.
