More about this scene
This 1960s view is a taken a little further north from the station, with the entrance to Grove Road half-way along on the left. Opposite the corner building of the 1880s terrace, now painted, is Sutton Court Road. Two buildings of the 1870s terrace on the right were demolished for 1970s road widening. The painted corner building has a superb Art Nouveau stone bank façade, designed by Frederick Wheeler in 1902; it is now a pub, called The Cock and Bull.
