St. Leonards 1950's
A Memory of Streatham.
Does anyone remember a girl named Mary Jones - her brother was Jimmy Jones and cousin was James Barnard. She was my best friend for such a short time and then had to leave infants/junior school as her dad remarried (her mum died of pneumonia). She was at St. Leonards for a couple of years. We went to girl guides together and she would hand me 'love letters' from her brother. St. Leonards was such a tiny school and we had no playground as such compared to today. Looking at the old photographs of Streatham High Road - it is such a far cry from today where there is hustle and bustle and cars everywhere! What a difference. Thank you for the memories.

Seem to think that it had outside loos and, as you say, was very small and maybe only a single story building as I can't remember an upstairs.
I went to the Cubs, for a very short time, at St Leonard's Church.
Wish I could remember more.
One name that does come to mind is Reggie Yule but not certain if he was at this school.
